When the shape of a term loan fits
Term loans work best when you can name the project and put a number on it: a build-out of a second location, a bulk inventory purchase for a contract, a fleet addition. The amount is fixed and so is the plan for paying it back. We fund $25,000 to $5,000,000, with funding in as little as 24 hours once the file is complete; specific terms are discussed after you apply.
Projects that make sense in Ontario
- A second location near the highways and shopping areas that make the city a commuter and shipping crossroads.
- A warehouse or storage fit-out for a business whose volume is growing.
- A vehicle or equipment addition where the quote is known, though equipment financing may match it more directly.
- A planned hire where payroll must run for months before revenue grows.
Wikipedia describes the city as 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and notes the presence of Ontario International Airport; for a business that expects new demand from that position, a defined expansion is easy to justify.
Do the arithmetic before you borrow
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What does the project cost, in total? | Include fit-out, permits, deposits and the first months of payroll |
| When does revenue start? | The payment starts before the extra income does |
| What is the monthly margin after payment? | If the margin is thin, a smaller project may be safer |
| What if revenue arrives six weeks late? | A buffer prevents a late start from becoming a missed payment |
For illustration only: a $90,000 build-out that adds $10,000 of monthly revenue at 40% margin adds $4,000 of monthly margin before its payment. Round numbers, not our terms.
If the need is not a single project
If costs are repeated and small, a line of credit fits better. If you need a cushion for payroll and stock, see working capital. Owners with advances weighing on the account can look at MCA relief. Region: San Bernardino County business funding.
Picking the amount
A common mistake is rounding up. If the project is $90,000, borrowing $120,000 means paying for $30,000 of comfort for the whole period. A better habit is to itemize: construction or fit-out, equipment, permits, deposits, initial stock, and two months of extra payroll. Then add a modest buffer for delay and stop. The itemized sheet also makes the application easier to read.
