What "considered" means
We consider FICO scores of 500 and above. Considered means the application is reviewed and the credit score is one input; it is not a pass mark and it is not a promise of an outcome. A lower score is not hidden or ignored. It is weighed alongside the activity in your business bank account.
Why bank activity carries more weight than people expect
A credit score describes how you handled borrowing in the past, often including personal cards, a car loan or an old medical bill. It says little about whether your business is taking in money today. Business bank statements fill that gap. They show deposits, how regular they are, how large they are and how money leaves the account.
That is why we ask for about three months of statements. A business with consistent deposits and a rough credit history can look quite different on paper than the score alone suggests.
Why 500 is the number we name
Funders set different thresholds, and many do not publish them. We name ours so you can decide whether to apply: FICO 500 and above is considered. If you are below that, work on the items in the next 30 days list and check back. If you are above, your next job is to make sure the bank statements tell a coherent story.
A soft pull, explained
Applying uses a soft credit pull. A soft pull lets a funder see your credit information without recording a hard inquiry on your report, so checking what is available does not by itself lower your score. Hard inquiries come later in some processes, and it is fair to ask any funder when and whether one will happen. Read what you are authorizing before you sign.
Before and after: how two applicants might differ
Applicant A
A FICO of 640, but deposits that swing wildly and several overdrafts in the last quarter.
Applicant B
A FICO near 500, deposits that arrive steadily every week and a balance that rarely drops below payroll needs.
These are made-up profiles to show the point: credit score and cash flow are different signals, and a funder reads both. You cannot change last year's credit history this week, but you can make the next three months of statements cleaner.
Five things you can do in the next 30 days
- Route all customer payments into the business account, not a personal one.
- Avoid overdrafts and returned payments.
- Pay down any card near its limit if you can do so without hurting cash.
- Check your credit report for errors and dispute any you find.
- Write down what the funding is for, with a number.
Questions to ask any funder
Whoever you apply to, ask these four things: Is the credit check soft or hard, and when? What is the total I will repay in dollars? When does the money arrive in my account? Are there fees taken out of the amount? A funder that answers plainly is easier to trust than one that changes the subject. Keep the answers in writing so you can compare them later.
What else we need
Funding runs from $25,000 to $5,000,000, and can be funded in as little as 24 hours. The application takes about five minutes. No tax returns are required, and sole proprietors can apply. If your score is near 500, make the case with strong statements and a clear plan. Apply here when you are ready.
