Small sellers, uneven credit
A lot of Escondido commerce is done by small operators who sell in person. The certified Farmers Market downtown brings growers selling fresh-picked California fruit, vegetables and flowers. The Escondido Swap Market has run for over 40 years with vendors selling used and new merchandise and food. Westfield North County on Via Rancho Parkway in southern Escondido houses retail tenants of every size. These businesses often start on personal cards and personal savings, so a hard season tends to show up on the owner's credit report before it shows up anywhere else.
That is the file we are built to read. We consider FICO 500 and above, the credit pull at application is soft, and sole proprietors can apply.
What a reviewer looks at after the score
With a lower score, the bank statements carry more of the weight. About three months of business statements are the core document, and no tax returns are required. A reviewer reading them is trying to answer a few plain questions:
- Does money come in regularly? Card settlements from a market booth or a register, deposited week after week, show demand.
- Does the balance hold? An account that touches zero now and then is normal; one that sits negative for days at a time is a warning.
- What already leaves the account? Existing daily or weekly debits from other financing reduce what the business can carry.
- Is the cash mixed? Vendors who run sales through a personal account make the business harder to see. Moving deposits into a business account before you apply helps.
A market vendor's file, for illustration
Consider a produce seller with a score in the 500s after a slow winter. For illustration only: their statements show deposits of roughly $30,000, $34,000 and $41,000 over three months as spring picks up, a few low-balance days in the first month, and no other financing debits. That file tells a reviewer the dip was seasonal and is reversing. Compare a seller with the same score whose deposits fall each month while two other advances pull from the account. Same score, very different read. These numbers are not our terms or a typical outcome; they show how deposits change the picture.
What we offer, and what we cannot say
Funding runs from $25,000 to $5,000,000, and approved files can be funded in as little as 24 hours. The application takes about 5 minutes. We cannot promise approval for any file, and a weaker credit profile can mean a smaller amount or higher cost than a stronger one would get. Read every offer in full before you sign it. Three things to do this week
- Download your last three months of business statements and mark any deposit that is not sales, such as a transfer from savings.
- Write two sentences on why your score dropped and what changed since.
- Decide what the money is for: stock for the busy season, a booth upgrade, a lease deposit. Then apply.
